Fort Worth African American Roots Music Festival

Featuring a show-stopping lineup of award-winning artists from across North America, the Fort Worth African American Roots Music Festival (FWAAMFest) brings performances, educational sessions, jams, and dance together to highlight the central role of blackness in early American music. It is the only major city festival of its kind that is both Black-led and centered on Black artists, enhancing the burgeoning local arts scene and promoting Fort Worth as a destination for lovers of traditional music, history, and culture.

FWAAMFest is supported in part by a grant from Arts Fort Worth, The Texas Commission on the Arts, and the City of Fort Worth, and is presented in partnership with the Southside Preservation Association and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
