TRAXX is an invitation for you to come and catch the beat. Black queer dance floors have always served something else — a vibrant and vibrating antidote to the here and now.
At this hybrid event we will be gathering in person at Life in Deep Ellum listening/watching/feeling the music and history presented by acclaimed scholar/DJ madison moore who will be schooling us live/virtually. Light food and drink will be served.
The most important clubs in Black queer nightlife history, from The Warehouse in Chicago to Paradise Garage in New York, were known for serving ovah beats, guiding clubbers eager to ride waveforms to other dimensions. What do these frequencies of Black queerness make possible?
At the event we will be giving out a limited number of free copies of madison moore’s book Fabulous: The Rise of the Beautiful Eccentric.
