The Accommodation: A Book Bus Tour

This is an interactive tour around Dallas highlighting some of the historic locations mentioned in Jim Schutze’s book, The Accommodation.

Dallas Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (DTRHT) is a participating sponsor of the community-wide reading program ‘Big D Reads: The Accommodation’. DTRHT is hosting an interactive bus tour about Jim Schutze’s book which tells the mid-century history of Dallas, centered on the civic response to the bombing of Black citizens’ homes, and the ongoing housing crisis that traces its roots to the Civil War and Jim Crow.

Attendees will be guided through an 8-stop tour around the city of Dallas visiting the physical locations depicted in the book. Boxed lunch will be provided.

The tour will depart from Dallas Black Dance Theater via luxury motorcoach. Parking is available on site with additional street parking also available in front of Booker T. Washington HS and Moody Performance Hall.
